New Vegeburger

The news media today,  October 13, 2016, is reporting that Impossible Foods has developed a new vegeburger that tastes better and cooks like the real thing.

While this development may be some time before commercial use, I will suggest that vegetarians may have some concerns as to this.  The news is reporting that the critical element in this new vegeburger is Heme.  Heme is a very common organic compound.  It may be found in bacteria, plants and in animals.  It is a vital element in human and animal blood.  I will suggest that vegetarians will want to know the source of Heme.  They probably will not be happy if it is from an animal source.

it appears that the heme molecules are taken from the roots of bean plants, then injected into a yeast growth medium, where the heme rapidly multiplies...  it is then used in the vegeburger production..

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

Personally I don't look for or hope to find a vegeburger that tastes or looks like a hamburger! I loved hamburgers when I ate them in the passed. I changed over to vegeburgers because they taste better than hamburgers, at least for me. Also most of them are much healthier in the long run.
