Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted October 21, 2016 Moderators Posted October 21, 2016 Under the Affordable Care Act, people are generally required to pay a penalty if they are not covered by medical insurance. The following URL tells you how you can be legally covered by a plan that pays for your health care and is not insurance. http://samaritanministries.org/ I have some major issues with it. E.G. It may not pay for clinical issues that existed prior to joining the plan. This plan is clearly not for me. But, it may pay for a medical bill of up to $250,000 and it may cost as little as $180 per month. It does satisfy the U.S. IRS requirement for clinical coverage. So, while I do not recommend it to you, I am mentioning it for your consideration if you are without clinical coverage, to see if it does meet your needs. NOTE: This plan is NOT insurance, as insurance is defined under U.S. law. Quote Gregory
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted October 21, 2016 Members Posted October 21, 2016 one of the companies I worked for about 15 years ago used a similar organization as their medical "insurance"... I didn't care for it, primarily because the .org was in charge of second guessing whether a physician-authorized medical procedure or prescription was necessary. If they thought you weren't doing enough to remedy the problem before seeing a physician, you were stuck with the bill.... There are four such .orgs. The first three require you to document that you're a practicing Christian. The last one (Liberty HealthShare) is open to anyone who agrees with their view of religious liberty. Samaritan Ministries, Christian Healthcare Ministries, Christian Care Ministry, and Liberty HealthShare. Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
