Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted October 30, 2016 Administrators Posted October 30, 2016 Reading the testimony of Rebekah Liu, how can anyone doubt that God can and does call women to pastoral ministry and leadership! If hers was an isolated story of just one woman, maybe for the recalcitrant doubter, but the fact is her story is not the only one. The familiar thread of unmistakeable and even miraculous divine action in the stories of the call of women to the gospel ministry is repeated time and again. Just yesterday, at Spencerville Adventist Church, the sermon of one of our associate pastors include just such confirmation of God calling a woman to ministry as a pastor. The story of her calling in her sermon left no doubt in my mind. She spoke of her fasting and praying of her decision to answer that call and asking others to do likewise on her behalf. How when she later spoke to one of those dear saints who told her of the sign she had asked for on her behalf that this was indeed the right thing for this young woman to do. The sign was a simple sign that God would wake her up every hour precisely on the hour throughout her night of fasting and prayer so that she could pray for her friend every hour on the hour. And it happened just like that. God was her only alarm clock. Every hour on the hour through the night, without fail, she woke up and prayed. She then knew. God was calling her friend to ministry. And her gifts as a pastor, as I have witnessed by hers and the ministry of all the other female pastors of the churches I have att dead and been a member of throughout my adult life also confirm it is of God. How can we as a Church conrtinue to doubt and deny the hand of God of these leaders and shepherds of His people. Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted October 30, 2016 Author Moderators Posted October 30, 2016 Those who attempt to explain away and dismiss the experience of the Church in China deny the leading of God in that place and in effect proclaim that God either cannot or does not intervene to prevent what they claim is government involvement in the internal affairs of the SDA denomination. Why would God place a person's physical well-being in the hands of a woman, yet say that same person's spiritual well-being would be in jeopardy if placed in the hands of a woman?
