David_McQueen Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Could you please remember FifiQueen in your prayers. I had to take her into the emergency ward at our local hospital on Staurday afternoon as she was experiencing some serious abdominal pains. They are doing some scans and checks on her today. Will keep you posted. Quote Firstborn Ministries: Spoken and written word, without apology

Beryl Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Yes, David, I will remember your whole family -- when mother is sick -- well!! Beryl Quote "Grace is God doing for us, in us and through us that which He requires of us but which is impossible for us to do in or for ourselves." But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." 2 Cor. 12:9.

David_McQueen Posted March 6, 2006 Author Posted March 6, 2006 Did I mention both kids have flu symptoms.....She is having keyhole surgery tomorrow to have some gall stones removed. Time for me to prove my worth. Thanks for your prayers Quote Firstborn Ministries: Spoken and written word, without apology
Moderators Jeannieb43 Posted March 6, 2006 Moderators Posted March 6, 2006 I'm praying for Fifi and for all of you, David. Hopefully the gallbladder surgery will cure the abdominal pains. Those gallbladder attacks sometimes mimic heart attacks, too -- very very excruciating. Quote Jeannie

...Change is inevitable; growth is optional....

David_McQueen Posted March 8, 2006 Author Posted March 8, 2006 Update: She had an operation (keyhole surgery) yesterday where they moved a huge gall stone and totally removed a very infected gall bladder. The doctors said it went really well and she is making a speedy recovery. Continual prayers are being appreciated by both of us. Quote Firstborn Ministries: Spoken and written word, without apology

Administrators Gail Posted March 8, 2006 Administrators Posted March 8, 2006 David, tell her we're rooting for her!!! Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Clio Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Wow David! Am so glad they took the gall bladder too. My hubby had similar surgery in April, and he is still "adjusting" to his new dietary needs and having his insides rearrange themselves. But overall, it really helped! I shall pray for a speedy recovery! YAY! Quote A heart where He alone has first place.
Moderators Jeannieb43 Posted March 8, 2006 Moderators Posted March 8, 2006 I survived cholecystectomy long ago. No changes in my diet that I could tell. [The only change was that my body started storing FAT more easily!] ugh! God bless you, David, and my prayers are with you and FifiQueen. fifiqueen Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Thank you all so much for your prayers, they were needed. I was told on the Sunday that I might be sent home and have to come back for an opperation in 6 weeks time. I knew that I needed to have whatever was wrong with me sorted out before I left the hospital and that I could under no terms go home until they had sorted me out. I prayed hard and God heard. When they realised that there was a gall stone and I still had pain they decided to operate asap. God is so awesome, at the hospital I recieved the rest I needed in hospital with no responsibilities but myself and even then I was being taken care of, no washing, cooking, cleaning or kids demanding my time. It was a break I'd been asking God for and now I am forced to convalesce which is what I really need!! God has given me space to think and a time to just be without running around like a headless chicken. This has been a wonderful experience (I know that sounds strange but it has!!) God has been in it from the beginning to end. I am now on a fat free diet for life, which is actually an answer to prayers about completing my weight loss, I think I've already lost around 12 pounds(in stones, pounds and ounces!!) Thank you for the continious support that CA has given to my family and I. We have been on and off of this community for at least 4 years and we have been truly blessed. Thank you! PS: I think that Dave ran bank to work with the wind in his hair !! Looking after sick kids, a wife in hospital, the washing cooking, cleaning et al has opened his eyes to my life. He did a good job, my prayer request is that he will keep it up!! Blessings Fifiqueen Quote No More Limits, With God All Things Are Possible
Clio Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Hi Fifi. So glad you're doing better and that this was, overall, a positive experience for you. I had something similar happen last week. Physical ailment, trip to the Hospital, relief and clearly the hand of Abba in it when all over. Nothing as serious as what you encounterd, but still... I can relate... a little. Quote A heart where He alone has first place.
stef Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 After my own lap-coli, I can relate to your relief from the pain, and the added blessing of rest...which I'm confident we could ALL use a bit more of in our busy lives! I will continue to remember your family in prayer as You recuperate. "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers." 3 John 1:2 Quote Lord, lay some soul upon my heart and love that soul through me; that I may humbly do my part to win that soul for Thee.

Moderators Nan Posted March 19, 2006 Moderators Posted March 19, 2006 So glad you are back on deck and we thank God for your recovery - and that fact that you got the surgery when you needed it. Quote
