Is this legit?

I wanted to take the challenge on the site, but it asked for me to sign up, including giving them my address. I'm usually skeptical of such things, but they offer a free book, and I would like the book. Does anyone else know if this is legitimate or a scam? Have you tried it before, or personally know someone who has? Did you get a book? If it's legit, I'd like to sign up and also share it with others.

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

The  short answer to the question in the OP is:  Yes, it is legitimate.

However, the longer answer is much more complex.  Over the past 50 + years there have been many books published about Desmond Doss.   Many of them are out of print and can only be obtained, since the release of the film Hacksaw Ridge  by paying huge prices.  As a young boy, I had a couple of those early books in my library.  But, they are long gone and I do not remember some of the titles.  Listed below are some of the more recent titles that may be available and publication facts:

* The Faith of Desmond Doss: Hero of Hacksaw Ridge,  John Bradshaw,  It is Written,  34 pages.  It is available print,  electronic media such as iTunes & Kindle.  Single copies may cost 99 cents and in quantities of 5,000, or more for 40 cents each.

*The Unlikeliest Hero,  Booton Herndon.  This book is out of print.  Hard cover copies may cost as much as $2.900 and in paper they can cost $76.  Booton Herndon was not a SDA.  I once had a copy of this book and consider it to be a  good book.

* Hero of Hacksaw Ridge, This book contains a very short, abridged version of Booton Herndon's book.   It also contains a postscript written by Doug Batchelor:   It is published by Remnant Publications, which is an independent publisher of materials designed to sell to conservative Adventists.  This book is being given away free to people who attend the movie.   The goal of the publisher, as I understand it, was to sell 1,000,000 copies.  I am also told that Doug Batchelor has purchased some 50,000 copies to distribute.  But, I have not independently verified those figures.

* Desmond Doss: In God's Care, Francis Doss.  In paper this book may cost $70.

*  Desmond Doss: Conscientious Objector,  Francis Doss.  In paper this book may cost $12.

* The Medic Miracle on Hacksaw Ridge, Adam Palmer.  In paper this book may cost as much as $728.

The Desmond Doss Council  has the legal authority for much of the Doss materials.  It is associated with the Georgia Cumberland Conference of SDAs.

The Conscientious Objector, Terry Benedict,  This is a 2004 documentary video that tells the story of Doss in interviews with Doss and with men with on Hacksaw Ridge and during his training--some of whom abused him.  It can be purchased in our ABCs and from Amazon.  The cost runs $20 to $25.

Do you mean that they won't really give you a free book for singing up?

Yes, I guess I was not clear.  You should be getting it free of charge.
