In the time of EGW, that word was more often than it is today associated with attracting attention. To study this, see historical English dictionaries for how the word was used in the time of EGW. Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted December 3, 2016 Members Posted December 3, 2016 I know a few Adventist women (and also a few from other denominations) who cover their hair with a scarf when out in public. It usually doesn't cover the hair completely (the front sometimes shows a bit). Many women in the mid to late 19th century covered their hair with a full bonnet when in public, adhering to the biblical injunction. Women today who cover their hair look a bit out of place, and maybe quirky, but it never occurred to me that they were wearing hijabs.
