We will also be spending a quiet Christmas this year.  We'll do the family thing on Christmas Eve; and just hang out on Christmas.  Ordering pizza, making a salad and eating myself sick on "goodies" (Christmas is my cheat day).  Wife and I will spend a couple days at a mountain retreat and come home in time to take care of multiple neighbors' animals while they party on New Years' Eve.  I have 11 consecutive days off that will only cost me 1 day of vacation.  SWEET!!

Wishing all my brothers and sisters here a Blessed Christmas and a Happy Prosperous New Year!

My sweet heart has a terminal illness so we will be counting all the things to be thankful for this year. That will be good enough for us.

That grieves me to know. There's this threat hanging in the air of your loosing her through death.

But not knowing when.

It would be nice to read about her in a topic devoted just to your wife. The way she is, some of her biography, her likes and dislikes, her love of God and how she gains spiritual strength in her bible studies and prayers.  I suggest this so we could have a more plastic mental image of her. That makes praying for her more regular on our part, I hope.

On 12/23 my wife isn't feeling well, but if she feels better, we'll probably go to a buffet dinner or a movie (if there's anything good showing). If not, we will probably watch stuff on TV. Peaceful and quiet. No kids, 2 Jack Russell Terriers and a Manx cat are enough children.

When Christmas comes, I will be glad for another year of life.   :)

Well, sorry I didn't see this thread till after Christmas.   But I did have a good holiday -- went to my daughter's house 12 miles away and enjoyed a wonderful meal and fellowship with two (out of three) of my children and their families.  The other son and his family are coming to town this Friday and we will all gather at the same home for another family time.

What would I do without my children!   And I thank God for my (reasonably) good health.

I look to the future.  :)

Jeannie, what will you be doing next Christmas.

Gregory, are you implying I might not be alive by next Christmas??   If I'm not, then I'll just be resting until Jesus comes.

I'm actually enjoying not having the burden of hosting all the family celebrations.   Now that my big house has been sold, it's somebody else's turn.   And I'm happy to pass the torch.

Happy new year, everybody!

Implication that you might not be alive a year from now:  Not at all.  :)
