The Record Keeper is a movie sponsored by the General Conference which attempted to put some SDA doctrinal themes into a context that would reach people who were not of a Christian background.  It was produced in a manner that it could be shown in  one setting, or  in eleven short segments in a discussion type of setting.  All in all, while the GC has not released  information as its total investment in this film, it is believed to be in the range of $800,000 to $1,000,000.  But, these figures are speculation.

Due to the investment made in the production of this film, the General Conference had certain ownership rights to the film.  Those were not 100%, but they did amount to most of the ownership of the finished film.  As a result, following the finished production of the film, in what is generally believed to be 2014, the General Conference decided that it should not be shown to the public.  Therefore, it is not generally available for viewing in any form.

However, in part due to the times in which we live, and available technology as well as the fact that the GC ownership of the film was a less than 100% ownership, it has been shown in very limited circumstances.  E.G.  In September of 2016, it was shown to the public in British Columbia, Canada.  But, this showing is not believed to have violated the ownership rights of the General Conference, and was apparently conducted by a religious group not associated with the SDA denomination.

Those who are able to search the deep and dark portions of the Internet may find it available for viewing, either as a complete film or in its specific parts.

NOTE:  Accuracy is important.  In this case, I cannot vouch for the accuracy of every minor detail.  But, in general, I believe that what I have posted  is accurate in the major details.

NOTE:  As this film was not produced from the standpoint of appealing to the general SDA membership, it is generally believed by  many that it would not appeal to the majority of the  membership of the SDA denomination.
