JoeMo Posted January 4, 2017 Posted January 4, 2017 This is probably a little "out of the box", but do we have to include the name "Adventist" in the URL? Although I am sometimes one who may be considered argumentative at times, I try to keep my disagreements to the issues rather than the person. I like the give and take of new ideas; and reading others' opinions. I have even revised my opinions (beliefs?) based on things other have posted here. It seems to me that we might get a lot more diverse inclusion in the forum if we gave the forum a more "inclusive" name like FaithBook.com (which already exists but is hopelessly inactive). There are many non-Adventists and former Adventists that are active posters here already. Quote
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted January 5, 2017 Moderators Posted January 5, 2017 Any name that we choose should be short and easy to remember. If it is not, people will not take the time to enter it into a search engine. I also think that it should have some element of identity with the SDA Church. One off the problems of not doing so is that some will think that we intentionally hide our relationship. Stan and phkrause 2 Quote Gregory

Do tell the others in conference positions that as well when they send out Evangelists for public meetings. The question is "Why no advertising for the meetings using the full name 'Seventh-day Adventist' on the billboard or in the newspaper release ?" Quote
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted January 6, 2017 Moderators Posted January 6, 2017 AKA: I will agree with you that it is problematic when we do not clearly identify ourselves. However, I will suggest that mainline SDA evangelists working in North America will commonly identify their association with the SDA denomination. This may not be 100%, but I will suggest that it is more typical. In any case, let us not tar everyone with the same brush. phkrause 1 Quote Gregory
aka Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 ClubA has a lot of Canadians posting here. They use a paper currency called the 'Canadian Dollar'. A loon is a water bird and has a piercing squeal when frightened. Loonie is the common name for the Canadian one dollar coin. It bears an image of the loon bird. My suggestion is to rename this Forum "Loonie.com". IMO quite appropriate for the many who show up here for posting. In so doing you'll get a rash of new registrations motivated for joining a very novel type of online forum. Quote
