Administrators Gail Posted January 11, 2017 Administrators Posted January 11, 2017 This totally does not surprise me. We have a customer here who is from Tanzania and who still travels back and forth. He tells me that the believers there are VERY conservative. My friend (this customer) likes only KJV (although EGW notes are okay, the ones in the Reformation bibles are better than those presented in the Remnant bibles), so I sell him KJV bibles either without mainstream study notes or those published by Reformation Herald. EGW books are okay, and hymnals. Behaviour in the church he attends in Africa is on the way conservative side. Just mention the subject of female ordination and see the reaction!! According to him the church is in apostasy and the SDA Reform looks appealing to him. Now I know that it isn't just him that is of the same mindset. I am real sorry that the wedding was interrupted... Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted January 11, 2017 Members Posted January 11, 2017 It doesn't say that the bride and groom were SDA -- just that their SDA relatives stopped the dancing. If the bride and groom were indeed *not* SDA, then their SDA relatives had no business telling them what to do. (Actually, in my mind, nobody should be telling a bridal couple what to do or not to do at a wedding....but I realize there could be regional cultural mores that might need to be considered.) phkrause 1 Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
CoAspen Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I danced at my daughters wedding, with her(not very well) and would not have missed out on doing that for anything! GayatfootofCross 1 Quote
GayatfootofCross Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I remember when i asked my SDA Minister why is dancing evil. I was told very solemnly that when a boy dances with a girl- she will get in trouble. the DANCING had to be stopped otherwise a full out orgy will break out. Quote For all Eternity God waited in anticipation for You to show up to give You a Message - YOUR INCLUDED !!! { a merry dance }?️? " If you tarry 'til you're better You will never come at all " ..
