Charitable reciepts for tax

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have been asked a few times, this week by my friends @Gregory Matthews if we can give charitable receipts..

We did get a 501c3 organization in California to do such, but lacked someone to do the account end of it.

If we could find someone to do that, I am sure we could.  I am not that person.

thoughts?

If you receive benefit to being here please help out with expenses.

O.K.  As I understand your statement above:

1)  You have obtained the proper registration and standing for gifts to Club Adventist to be tax deductible.  Am I correct on this?

2)  However, you do not have t he  ability to issue the paper documentation that will document for IRS purposes that such a contribution has been made.  Am I correct on this?

If the above is accurate, this means that one may deduct their gifts to CA when they file their taxes.  If the IRS challenges their deductions, they may lose as to the gift to CA. But, so what.  Probably not  many people    give more than $25.  The amount of    loses of such a give is minimal.

This will just depend upon the risk that one wants to take.
