Veteran-owned Black Rifle Coffee Company responded to Starbucks by saying that they would hire 10,000 veterans. Evan Hafer, founder of Black Rifle Coffee Company and former service member, appeared on Fox and Friends on Tuesday to discuss why he is hiring the veterans. “Our plan is to build 600 stores in the next six years. I’m gonna try to push this forward with the community behind me,” Hafer said. Hafer said that he plans to hire many veterans that have fought and served post 9/11 but will still be pulling some from an older generation that served during the Gulf War. There is a higher unemployment rate for veterans that served post 9/11 than the average American person. Hafer added that with the help of their partner, Blue Lives Matter, all profits that they make from the “Thin Blue Line” blend will go directly to law enforcement. The description for the product on the website reads: “Thin Blue Line blend is a product created to benefit the families of wounded police officers. 100% of all proceeds for this blend will be donated to the families of those who have been wounded in the line of duty.” Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. Gary K Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I like this. Our veterans have consistently had the promises the government has made to them broken for a long, long time. It is time someone with the ability to help out large numbers of them did so. If I drank coffee I would buy their brand just to help them support our veterans in some small way. Quote
