I cannot answer for others, however the all sufficiency of Jesus' shed blood in cleansing me from all my unrighteousness and taking my deserved penalty of eternal death and giving me in its' place His eternal life and character. While the reality of failure on my part is with me everyday, so also is His assurance voiced on the cross, His part is never any less than complete as long as I choose acceptance of His gift. So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit....John 19 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. I am reading a book by pastor Lonny Meleshanko. I think its called "Stand At The Cross And Be Changed." It details the possible thoughts and experiences of each person/s that was there at the time. It is a complex subject, yet simple. I will post a little more here soon as I find this topic quite interesting. I read a book similar to that, twice, by Leslie Hardinge called, They Watched Him Die. Rather, it is the crucifix that is of major importance. Yes!! What is it about the crucifix? It is a symbol you see worldwide. Why did Jesus' death take on such significance when hundreds of other criminals were crucified and forgotten? You suspect correctly in that I have started a new book that examines just that question. In the past I have asked the question, Why blood?, and wondered at the significance of blood that cleanses from sin. So when I saw this title released I thought I would give it a try. The title is, The Day the Revolution Began, and it was written by N. T.
