A lay-led group within the SDA denomination has  initiated a project that they call Affirmation Sabbath to take place on May 20, 2017.

The Upper Columbia Conference as asked its member congregations neither to participate nor to distribute such advertising material.

How dare the sheep get out of line and do something without the "guidance" of
officialdom! This is truly sad and reminds me of Doug Batchelor being refused in
the Florida conference.

Another example of a denomination using its power and influence to "control" the membership.  I'm not in agreement with their apparent motive; but I respect their right to assemble and support their convictions.

Exactly!! But I believe he has been here and done a series of meetings in Sanford since then!!

when a group becomes divisive, judgmental, and fearful....

Yes there are often valid reasons for such decisions.
