Most of this picture you cannot see in real life. It is a combination of the green band from the visible spectrum, infrared, and reflective ultraviolet. It is three black & white picture merged and each assigned a color. Later I will put up the same picture with no "visible" light. There is an amazing world out there that we cannot even see!

What you see in this picture is not visible to the eye. The intricacy of how we are made is sometimes mind boggling. Normal vision is from about 400 to 700 nm. The blue (ultraviolet) in the picture is in the high 300 nm. The pink (infrared) is about 1000 nm. 1000 nm is about as far from visual range as red is from blue. While I have put them in the blue and red channels in photoshop, if you were actually able to see them and all other vision is the same, they would be a color that we have never seen before and cannot even imagine.

If you were to continue off the infrared end of the visual portion of the electromagnet bands you run into heat and then radio waves. I have never seen pictures made from radio waves exactly, but you can find pictures made from heat waves (thermography). MRIs are kind of a picture made from radio waves but quite a bit more complex than just saying "a picture made of radio waves."

Going off the blue end, you run into things like damaging ultraviolet (UV-c) then to x-rays and gamma waves. You can do picture with X-rays, but they are never that I have seen in the form of reflective x-rays. Just really too dangerous to get your portrait done in reflective x-ray!

I'm so glad you are part of this Forum and are teaching us the intricacies of matters we have no idea about.

Seeing the above picture (manipulated) made be access my own values and I came to the conclusion that the mercy of God shows Himself in letting light so fall to give us the intensity of color as we know it in all things of nature. No, I definitely don't like colors giving (to me) a view that seems alien to my learned mental picture of how nature is to look in this world.

I must share a memory that makes me chuckle.

Many of you have seen on tv Police chases of criminals after they do a crime and run away from the scene. When the crime happens at night the police helicopter flies over the area and searches with cameras (I think they are using thermography?). It's great fun to watch the guy running down various alley ways and bush covered areas. Because of the technical ability of the camera in the sky the guy's body heat is visual in the monitor even if hiding inside and he is seen visibly. He has no idea of this and is in the assumption the darkness of night, with the density of the bushes and walled in alley ways is actually keeping him hidden from the guys in the sky. I watched and saw how one glowing body image fled into a shed most likely believing the helicopter would not see him. But we all did and it must have been a very confusing moment as the alerted Police on the ground walked up and opened the shed door to go in and arrest him. Going off hand-cuffed must have caused him to keep asking himself 'How did they find me....How did they find me....?

What you are seeing in the police chases is FLIR (forward looking infrared) photography. This is
interesting as it and thermography use radiation created by the human body and is not a light source
reflecting off of the subject.

Why this is interesting is, Adam and Eve were said to have glowed with the glory of God. In fact,
Moses coming down off the mountain had to cover his face because of the fear people had of looking
at him. I do not know what this "glow" of Adam and Eve or even of Moses was, and I am not sure that it
can even be photographed. If you took a picture of Moses coming down from the mountain and later
looked at it, would you get the same feelings you got looking at him in real life?

But whatever the "science" behind the glow, it no longer is present in most human beings today. It
is interesting that the only real use of the "glow" from FLIR subjects are usually from people being
caught in the act of sin ... I mean ... breaking the law! So, amazingly, even sinful people have an
unseen "glow" to them.

Thermography also has a medical use in finding certain disease states. Again, the effects of sin
show up in the flesh and is visible in our human "glow."

Some people will say that clothing is an invention of the devil. Not exactly, but it seems that
clothing is a counterfit for the brightness of their being from being in the presence of God. But
that is another completely different thread!

Many years ago, I came home from the academy. One Sabbath afternoon, my brother said, "Hey! Lets sneak out and go see a movie!" Mind you, I had a very strict Adventist mom and had never been to a movie theater in my life! But we did. We went to see "The Man with the X-rays Eyes". I have been hooked on seeing what I can't see ever since. My X-man superpower would be to see all of the electromagnetic bands with my own eyes! 

I did not go into radiology, but always enjoyed taking patients to radiology (ICU patients always had their nurse go with them to scans) for their imaging tests which included everything from CT scans, MRI, PET scans, angiograms with their spinning injections, nuclear medicine studies, and not to forget plain ol' x-rays and fluoroscopy studies.
