A couple of hours into their visit, Mrs. Spitz noticed he hadn't once lit up a cigarette. "So Avi, are you trying to kick the habit?" she asked. "Not really Ma," Avi replied nonchalantly. "I have a cold, and I don't smoke when I'm not feeling well." "Oy," Mrs. Spitz sighed, "you know, you'd probably live longer if you were sick more often."
