Gary K Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 When Otto Warmbier was returned from North Korea in a coma and died shortly afterwards you would think that people would express their condolances to his family and express outrage over a government basically beating this kid to death for allegedly taking down a poster. Well, the people on the political left have other ideas. When you read this just think of all the love and tolerance being expressed by the leftist professor in this story. https://spectator.org/not-all-americans-are-grieving-for-otto-warmbier/ Quote
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted June 27, 2017 Members Posted June 27, 2017 the University of Delaware has basically fired Katherine Dettwyler for her comments, which is as it should be. I could write a lot more about the disgusting persona of Dettwyler, but I won't. It's so very sad that Otto Warmbier died, and I think North Korea should be held accountable (though we all know nothing but rhetoric will happen). That said, I think it was incredibly stupid of Mr. Warmbier to visit North Korea — a place that treats its own citizens with disdain, and doesn't think twice about murdering people who darest have a thought of their own.. phkrause 1 Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

I agree that it was not the smartest thing Otto Warmbier did in his young life. No doubt about it. But what happened demonstrates what goes on where socialism is in power. The very worst of people rise to the top of the power structure and stay there. Other examples are Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and Castro. It's not by accident that men like that come to power under that ideology. This is why you will see very little criticism of North Korea by the socialists. The left wing media in this country mocked Warmbier when he was arrested. Why? Because it wanted to place all fault upon him, not the system that was abusing him. Quote
