After the Republican senator Scalise was shot this Democratic strategist has the following response.   Did you see the absolute firestorm of condemnation in the MSM this provoked?  Oh, no you didn't because it didn't happen.  Biased media?  Who can possibly deny it?

OK. Here you go, phkrause.  Your fallacy is a straw man.  I was demonstrating media bias because of the MSM's failure to roundly condemn what he had to say, not what you are arguing, although what you are arguing against is simply not true.  The man is a Democrat.  He has run multiple campaigns for Democratic politicians, and he is obviously violently opposed to Republicans.  He certainly is not a conservative, or libertarian, in any sense of the word.

I would imagine you would make the same argument against the Scalise shooter being left wing, and would once again be wrong.  Hodgkinson was a socialist.  He volunteered for Bernie Sander's presidential campaign, who is a publicly avowed socialist.  He certainly has no leanings towards conservative or libertarian ideas.
