Angels on the Head of a Pin!

In religious myth, it is often said that Theologians used to argue over the actual numbers of angels that could dance on the head of a pin.

Perhaps, along the same line of thinking, research scientists have studied how to engineered a microscope that could be installed on he head of a mouse, which would allow a view of the brain of that mouse, while keeping it alive and able to go about its daily activities.

Mark Schnitzer, of Stanford has engineered such a microscope.  It weighs in at 1.9 grams.  (There are 28.3495 grams in one ounce.).  It can be implanted on the head of a mouse in a manner that allows a picture to b transmitted to a computer screen and the mouse remains mobile and alive.  For more on this see:

Scientists at U.C.L.A. have engineered a 3-gram model that works in as similar way.
