Rahab Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 If you ask people if they believe in god, most will say "yes" If you ask those same people if they believe in Jehovah? Some will say 'yes' and some will say "no" and walk away. What is going on here? Why the difference? Quote
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted July 2, 2017 Moderators Posted July 2, 2017 The term "god" is amorphous is construct. It has no clearly defined meaning. It can mean anything as understood by any person. It is broad enough in definition that a majority of people can find some reason for saying that they believe in a god. This can include a Hindu conception of what god is, a Christian conception, a force field, and much more. The term "Jehovah" is quite different. It narrows, at least in the minds of people, the boundaries that describe God. It can remind them of a Jehovah's Witness concept, and much less than the previous one. NOTE: I do not limit this to a JW concept. JoeMo 1 Quote Gregory

LifeHiscost Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 There was a tragic incident in Minnesota today, involving a woman who headed an organization purporting to help people, centered around yoga and meditation. Here is a quote that gives some idea where those attributes are derived. Below is a link to a great article on yoga by Beth Eckert on her website The Other Side of Darkness. Her blog piece was just featured on the Charisma magazine website. Beth not only has intimate knowledge and experience with yoga, but she also understands the relationship of yogic spirituality to witchcraft and the occult. When will Church leaders begin to take the spiritual origins of yoga seriously! If they don’t, they will have great difficulty reaching those involved in the New Age and yoga (Hinduism). The Church is so concerned about being “relevant” that they cannot see idolatry when it is staring them in the face. Meanwhile, young believers are getting confused as the Trojan horse of “evidence-based” research into yoga and “mindfulness” meditation is seen as scientific support for these practices. 31 I am the LORD. 31Do not turn to mediums or spiritists; do not seek them out to be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God....Leviticus 19 God is Love!~Jesus saves! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
