Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted July 16, 2017 Moderators Posted July 16, 2017 The following article is three months old, but, it makes a cogent case as to why we should impeach President Trump: http://observer.com/2017/05/why-democrats-should-not-wish-for-trump-impeachment/ Quote Gregory
Moderators Bravus Posted September 17, 2017 Moderators Posted September 17, 2017 I dunno. I think there are other reasons - like that Pence might be more controlled but even scarier - but I don't think the arguments in that piece are compelling, for one reason: the put love of party before love of country. If something is good for the Democrats but bad for America, should they support it? I don't think so. It might be a bit of a quaint, old-fashioned view these days, but I think all politicians of all stripes should put our common humanity first, then the interests of the country they serve, then (and a distant third) the interests of their political party. And the belief that their political party is what is best for the country doesn't really change that. (Many here would place fealty to God at the top of that list, and I'm OK with that, but the God I know would lead to the second thing in the list being the highest priority anyway...) phkrause and CoAspen 2 Quote Truth is important
