aka Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Great website for free thinkers. I've been there often. It sort of reflects the fundamentals of my 'barely Adventist' point of view. But please don't misunderstand. My heart is at peace with the lovely Adventists I interact with. I hold no grudge, no hatred , and no animosity toward the organisation. I study, test, and hold to what is biblical in SDA teachings. My study still goes on and I have not a full conclusion as of yet. Quote
Outta Here Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 I do like www.AdventistFellowship.com Quote

aka Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Stan, if you are saying we could incorporate www.clubadventist.net as Forum url, then we would go back to the habit of calling everything associated with mentioning the name of this Forum as Club Adventist? Just like before? With all the negative stigmas of bad memories as well? IMO, a break with the past and beginning a new start with a new title is a positive step in the right direction. Quote

aka Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Hmmmm. about Fellowship in the new url or name of this site. The basis in meaning is having a foundation of shared friendship and support of the others in the group. There's shared interest in the topic offered. It's nice to be where there's a feeling of friendship and support between people. LifeHiscost 1 Quote
Outta Here Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 When I suggested the name "fellowship" I was really thinking of the types of conversations that could be heard during an Adventist potluck in the Fellowship Hall. This forum is kind of like that, IMO. Quote

aka Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 This topic was opened by Margie August 12, 2017. It is now September 19, 2017 I suppose there is some hidden reason for the delay in changing the title of this Forum? Is the url so difficult for you to change to another title? Quote
Margie Posted September 19, 2017 Author Posted September 19, 2017 Frankly I think Stan gave effective responses to my questions and he did remove the capital S. I think all that's left is actually recommending a distinct and marketable name. Maybe there's a way to do a forum-wide poll with multiple choices. I do think that the Adventist name was the main draw for the name ClubAdventist and keeping that aspect will continue to attract people to this forum. AdventistHangout AdventistRoots Bistro Adventist I'm sure others would have better ideas than mine. Lets add more to the list and then figure out a good way to get community input. phkrause 1 Quote

aka Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 I'm liking Adventist Hangout. It's ever so 'hip-hop'. Adventist Roots is a bit 'iffy'. A great majority of members break out (symbolically speaking) into huge rashes when coming near in thought to thinking about the roots of Adventism. For them it is a horror story which gives them uncomfortable itchiness. Comparable to viewing thoughts on the roots of blacks in the time of slavery. On the other hand bistro is a modern approach to fellowship. It connotates a charming, cosy and informal meeting place. Quote
Stan Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 the changeover to a new name would be relatively easy. the way things are now set up Stan I have ordered the domain adventisthangout.com Quote If you receive benefit to being here please help out with expenses. https://www.paypal.me/clubadventist Administrator of a few websites like https://adventistdating.com
JoeMo Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 I hope this question doesn't offend anyone. Why do we have to tie the name to Adventism? The name "Adventist" will automatically make many people infer that it is a site exclusively for SDA's. I realize that I am not the boss of anything here in Adventistan; but I am certainly interested in attracting a larger audience than Adventists. There is enough of a core of Adventists here to keep the subject matter under control. Just my opinion. If the majority here want to keep the site mainly for Adventists, I'm okay with that, too. I'm staying regardless. I like it here. Margie, aka, LifeHiscost and 1 other 4 Quote
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted September 20, 2017 Members Posted September 20, 2017 there are many generic Christian forums .... if I was a non-SDA Christian looking to find a forum in which to participate, and joined this forum without any indication that it was geared towards Adventism, and subsequently found out, it would make me think there was a hidden agenda. I don't think there's anything wrong with putting "SDA" or "Adventist" in the name of the forum. It's like Catholic fora or Baptist fora. If I was interested in discussing things with folks who subscribe to those beliefs, it'd be kinda nice to know in advance that I've found the correct place... phkrause, Stan, Margie and 1 other 3 1 Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. GoodNews Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 Is the goal of this forum intended to be a Home for Sadventists to find support in finding Happiness within the group, by better understanding the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the only place I have found happiness! See Matt 11:38-41. Could this be the group of 'fellow believers' that we have all been looking for? Quote Success is reserved for those who persevere.
aka Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 Oh dear G.News. Please don't hang around here with so high a level of expectation. Finding happiness here is a tad off field with throwing the ball of hope. However I agree with you that happiness is to be found when the Gospel is personally experienced. Albeit, this group of fellowship does have a great variety of members with heavy bags of burdens in their life's destiny. But many are experiencing happy contented lives if they would only testify to such in a topic thread or in the Status Update page. Margie and JoeMo 2 Quote
