The above is a 27 minute video that discusses the plight of SDA conscientious objectors in England during WW I about 1914.

It is not pretty.  It discusses beatings and torture.

It raises an important point at the 24 minute level when it suggests that the real issue is not the correctness of the position that they took.  Rather it is that they were faithful to what they believed God wanted them to take.  God works on people individually and it that working of the Holy Spirit to which we are responsible, not denominational positions.

I am reminded of a time when I was serving in another country.  A citizen of that country took off his shirt and showed me the scars   on his back that he had sustained due to a position that he took related to his personal position while in the  Army of that country.

As a point of information:

In Germany, the position of the SDA Church is essentially that of a pacifist positon.  E.G.  Do not serve in the military in any position.

In the U.S. the positon of the denomination is that military service is an individual choice, but, it is recommended that military service be in a non-combatant type position.

thank you for  posting this  video----most of  people in the  UNTIED  STATES   have  not  idea  about  what these  men  had to  go though

and it  is  also interesting  about  how  other  countries  view  conscientious objectors====how   the  BRITISH  Government and Army  view

this  so america  religion  brought to  ENGLAND
