aka Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 Not necessarily, Shane. I believe, in my opinion, we are to get angry at injustice we see going on in the lives of others. And we need to get angry at unrighteousness being practice. We are to get angry when the name and character of our heavenly Father is maligned. The clue is when to not be passive in viewing unrighteous in the act but to step up and employ our talents and help. Mostly we are angered by what our ego finds insulting to us or by people who go against our will. It is truly in the negative cases a matter of egoistic egoism. It's what we do with this anger that makes a difference in fulfilling the Will of God. It is totally not in harmony to be destructive toward things or people with anger when walking the path of holiness God has us on. My anger crops up when others are not doing the commands properly I want them to do. I have learned that hurting their self-image with angry abusive words would only make them more resistant to me and unwilling to work any further to seek to please me by doing a job well done. I will testify that in the last five or seven years the influence of His Spirit in my heart has caused me to stop being destructively egoistically angry. I don't blow off now and am even nice in tone of voice when telling my Alfred how what he did bothered me. What a change from the early years. I've reached a point of mellowness and use kindness as a reaction. No more vengeance or verbal abuse. He is a very good maintenance man around our cottage and I need to keep him in good spirits so the needful repairs and on-going tasks get done. I seek peace and want to be an active peacemaker. Dr. Shane Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Well, I am speaking for myself. That is why I used an "I" statement. When I get angry, there is normally something wrong with me. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
