Rigidity

To what extent, if any, is the SDA denomination becoming rigid?  For one view, see:

Is this from the maturing of the leaders?  Is it too many grey hairs?  We do tend to become less flexible with age, and more conserving of energy.  I see that Bill Johnson is older, but is he an exception in is view among the older leaders?

Another thought is that some believe that they are hastening the 2nd advent and therefore doing the work of God.

The more rigid the denomination becomes, the more likely they are to push current "open-minded" members out of the church; and discourage new members.  An ever-increasingly intimate relationship with our God and Savior brings us into eternal life; not submitting to some denomination's increasingly strict man-made standards.  God is my judge - not the denomination.  As the world becomes more anti-Christian, we need to look for ways to UNITE Christianity, not further DIVIDE it.

Just an observation, not to send subject in any other direction, but what we are seeing by 'other' leaders and 'peoples', division seems to be the present flavor and being encouraged. So what we see in the church is a meer reflection of society in general. I would believe that the power aligned against God is quite pleased.
