December 5, a Big Day

The first reason is that on December 5, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments on the case of the Colorado baker who refused to bake a cake for a homosexual couple's wedding.  This has been discussed in the Religious Liberty thread.

But there is also a 2nd reason for December 5 being an important day.  Summer Zebvos has filed a lawsuit against President Trump in a Court in New York.  The respective attorneys have been arguing about it for the past year or so.   December 5 is the day that t he judge will issue a ruling as to whether or not the lawsuit against the President can go forward, and if so, under what conditions.   Donald Trump is not an ordinary citizen.  He is the U.S. President.  There are issues that involve the Constitution as to whether or not he can be forced to litigate and under what conditions, while he remains the President.  The ruling of the  Judge will be quite important.

Ms. Zebvos alleges that Mr. Trump was previously sexually inappropriate with her.  In response President Trump has called her a liar and stated that her allegations are totally false.  So, she has filed a lawsuit against him for publicly calling her a liar.  This is a much different legal case that it would be if she charged him with sexually inappropriate behavior.

However, it introduces an additional aspect into the procedure.  If the judge allows the litigation to go forward, Trump's attorney's will likely ask the judge to rule that Ms. Zebvos is a public figure.  The rule of the law differs in a case of this type based upon whether or not the person is a public figure.  That ruling may not be delivered tomorrow?

Anyway, tomorrow will likely be an interesting day.
