Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted December 11, 2017 Moderators Posted December 11, 2017 It is a recent book! It was published by a Christian denomination. The following is a critique of the book, yet, acknowledges some of what the book says. https://atoday.org/a-platter-of-benighted-respectability/ Quote Gregory

8thdaypriest Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 I dislike the title of the book, and the cover. If we want to appeal to those who love science, that cover does not appeal. It threatens. It's more of a "rally-the-troops" style. Reminds me of the woman who said, "We don't need evidence. We just take those things on faith." In her view, the less evidence we have, the more faith we have. In my mind, it's not a contest between faith and evidence. More and more scientific evidence is coming to light, which disproves evolution - which shows that evolution could not possibly be true. The "problem" is not lack of evidence. The problem - as it has always been - is that folks do not want to look at the evidence. They want to believe that there is no God. And they will seek to prevent children and young people access to the available evidence. Quote 8thdaypriest
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted December 12, 2017 Author Moderators Posted December 12, 2017 I could guess at a connection between the title and the content of the book. But, such would be speculation without reading the book. So, I will decline. Quote Gregory
