Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted December 22, 2017 Moderators Posted December 22, 2017 In previous posts, I and others have mentioned some of the genetic issues that people face. We have pointed out that sexuality occurs in people on a line that may be described as female to male. In the following, I will mention two genetic condition, which while rare do occur in human life and I will ask how the SDA denomination should in its consideration of issues of sexuality and of marriage should relate to people with these conditions. From the clinical standpoint, there is much more that can be learned about people with these conditions, which can be accessed on the Internet, which I will not introduce into this public discussion on the Internet. I am simply attempting to point out that even if rare, there are aspects of this discussion that present a conundrum. Swyer syndrome: People with this condition have the typical external female anatomy. But, they have XY chromosomes, which are typically the chromosomes of males.. Internally they lack certain female organs and can not normally become pregnant. However, with clinical intervention, they can give birth. https://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/condition/swyer-syndrome de La Chapella Syndrome: People with this condition have the typical external male anatomy. But, they have XX chromosomes, which are typically the chromosomes of females. https://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=25059 JoeMo and Kevin H 2 Quote Gregory
