A retired General Conference official speaks to the need for  more female chaplains and discussed the services that they perform and the requirements to become a chaplain.

Ordination is not the subject of the article.

Combobulation:  The definition of this word cannot be posted in this forum in its completeness due to the fact that scatology is clearly a part of the meaning of that word and this forum does not allow such words to be posted.

The Urban Dictionary is not the best place to get your definitions!   :backtopic:

That depends upon what you are looking for. Certainly the Urban Dictionary  does not perform such functions such as that of a historical dictionary.  Here is what it does do:

The

Urban Dictionary is a crowdsourced website that records new words and their meanings. It began life in 1999 as a parody of Dictionary.com but has since become an important resource on the Web.

Within that context, we would not allow to be posted here a common definition of the word.

:)

NOTE:  My assumption is that this word was first posted here in an attempt to have some fun with our readers.  I am responding in kind as I like to have fun with people who attempt to have fun with me.

:)

One does not have to go serious at all times.   One can have fun.

That does not sound like *ordination* to me. It sounds like  Combobulation not ordination Ordination is not based on gender parity, so called.

"Definition of Combobulate | New Word Suggestion | Collins Dictionary"

"Combobulate. New Word Suggestion. To put together in order. To bring something out of a state of confusion or disarray."

Seems this is talking about an obscuring or denying the concerns of female ordination in validating the need and value of female chaplains.

To be clear:   I know the author of the article very well.  He favors the ordination of females and their value in ministry.

David:  No apology needed I assumed that you were not aware of its scatological aspects.

I had  fun running with it.

If you read the article in full, as I did do, you will see there is a paragraph that veers from the chaplaincy theme into ordination, and equating same with "parity." What I said, or meant to say is not rocket science, and it was in reference to that portion of the article. I still stand behind what I said:  "Parity" has nothing to do with ordination. I did not give any hint about being opposed to women or men being chaplains, or even with being ordained. I addressed "Parity" so called and its false comparison to ordination in the article. Thats just what you read into it before you looked into it properly, kind of like I did with the dictionary thing. And BTW it was not the Urban dictionary.  It was an obscure (new) firefox browser add on thing.

i have not read the article i was just commenting on the use of the word combobulation.

I appreciate your honest in both posts, i am fine, and didn't take any of it personally.

I find I appreciate males in ministry as they seem to enjoy what they do so much, that it is contagious.  It seems like men ministers have a club and just love what they do, giving each other a lot of support..

As for females in ministry it seems they work double hard to meet all the flack for being female, and so they seem more focused and more disciplined, and very strong in what they do.
