Administrators Gail Posted April 18, 2006 Administrators Posted April 18, 2006 According to the National Post, many people believe what it says about Jesus' life and death in the Da Vinci Code story: They believe it! Do you plan to do anything to witness about this? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Ron Lambert Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 It's just a fad. Vox populii is not known for its logical consistency. You ask the same people if they believe Jesus was the divine Son of God, who died and rose again from the dead, and they will say yes. The thesis of the Da Vinci Code is that Christ was not really the divine Son of God. If anything, these contradictions indicate that the majority do not know what they believe. I will simply set forth the truth, as I always have, and not get worked up by whatever the latest silliness that comes down the pike. (Like the Da Vinci Code, like the alleged "Gospel" of Judas, etc.) I will not let Satan push my buttons that easily. Quote

Nicodema Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Wonder why there's this sudden surge of such "stuff" ... ? Think there's something to this? Something behind it, maybe? Just musing aloud ... Quote "After such knowledge, what forgiveness?" -- T.S. Eliot
bevin Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Did you read "Holy Blood Holy Grail" when it came out in the 1970's? Yeah - there are copy-cat books coming out quickly as the publishers try to capitalise on the success of one book. /Bevin Quote
Moderators Gerr Posted April 19, 2006 Moderators Posted April 19, 2006 I read the "The Da Vinci Code". It was a real page- turner. I had to keep reminding myself that it was only fiction. Gerry Quote

The Bible predicts a time when there would be a famine on the earth for the Word of God: "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it. In that day shall the fair virgins and the young men faint for thirst." Amos 8:11-13 Personally, I believe that this is a time when we can proclaim the gospel as straight as we Adventists know how. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
