Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted February 22, 2018 Moderators Posted February 22, 2018 See: https://atoday.org/lawsuits-threatened-as-atlantic-union-college-votes-closure/ Sad as it may be, the closure of Atlantic Union College is the only reasonable choice that can be made. It is symptomatic of the situation that our SDA colleges are facing in the United States. It is possible that in the next 10 years, another SDA college may have to close. The bottom line is that our colleges are facing challenges that may require major changes in the thinking of our denominational leadership. The above article also surfaces the idea of potential litigation against SDA leaders and organization. The suggestion that people have been harmed by prior decisions is one that should be respectfully considered as well as what remedy should be provided to those harmed. While it is possible that such may only take place in a court of law, it would be well to attempt to resolve the issues outside of litigation, if possible.
