SDA Passover

This evening, I attended a service at a SDA Church that was billed as a Christian version of a Passover seder.

Attendees were given a 20 page booklet which contained the required material.  At appropriate points in the service the pastor developed the similarity to what was happening in the service and the Lord's Supper.  That was the emphasis:  Understanding that Passover seder that JC had with his disciple prior to his death instructs us on elements of the Lord's Supper.  The service had the elements of the Jewish seder and included a full meal with a Jewish emphasis.

At one point, and with instruction as to the meaning, we were to dip our matzah into the horseradish.  I took a generous helping!  My response was heard all over the auditorium and by all people!  At the point where the leader instructed the audience to eat, he added the comment that it was evident that someone had eaten early.    

This was not a service by Messianic Jews.  It was a SDA service in a SDA congregation that does this each year near Easter, as I understand it.  Yes, it did enlighten as to the symbolism that was carried over into the Lord's Supper.

The 20 page booklet was well written.
