Ships shall come from Kittim

Numbers 24:24 "But ships shall come from Kittim and shall afflict Asshur and Eber; and he also shall perish forever." (NRS)

Daniel 11:29 "At the time appointed he shall return and come into the south, but this time it shall not be as it was before. 30 For ships of Kittim shall come against him, and he shall lose heart and withdraw. He shall be enraged and take action against the holy covenant. He shall turn back and pay heed to those who forsake the holy covenant. 31 Forces sent by him shall occupy and profane the temple and fortress. They shall abolish the regular burnt offering and set up the abomination that makes desolate. 32 He shall seduce with intrigue those who violate the covenant; but the people who are loyal to their God shall stand firm and take action. 33 The wise among the people shall give understanding to many; for some days, however, they shall fall by sword and flame, and suffer captivity and plunder. 34 When they fall victim, they shall receive a little help, and many shall join them insincerely. 35 Some of the wise shall fall, so that they may be refined, purified, and cleansed, until the time of the end, for there is still an interval until the time appointed." (NRS)

"Kittim" is Cyprus.  Asshur is Assyria.  Eber the area now occupied by Iran.  The US Sixth Fleet is anchored at Cyprus.  Ships have moved into position opposite Syria. 

We just might be witnessing the fulfillment of an ancient prophecy that will start the cascade of events leading up to "THE END".   I'm feeling like I did on 9/11.  I think this "action" in the Middle East, will be significant.

The 6th Fleet is poised to move into the Eastern Mediterranean if needed for an escalated war in the Middle east.  Trump has warned Syria and Russia in a tweet or two today that that missiles are coming new, fast, and smart missiles in response to Assad's recent chemical attacks on his own people.

You may be right.  Nonetheless, scripture says to watch and pray.  I have seen what Rachel referred to is the commentaries of some other students of prophecy.  It is just one of many plausible scenarios that signal the beginning of the end.  I see nothing wrong with discussing these. I won't mention any names, but there are others on this site (maybe even including me) that have postulated stranger things than this.

The "ships" from Cyprus, are NOT "the end".  This is only the beginning of events that will lead up to "the end".   And IF this really is the triggering event, even the prophecy in Daniel says it will be "many days" (quite some time) before we get to "the end".

I wonder who "he" is.  "He will become discourage, and will leave."  Wonder who that will be - Iran, or Putin.

Or Assad (Syria)?  There are several OT prophecies that speak of the terminal demise of Damascus (e.g., Isaiah 17 and Jer. 49.)  Could we be on the verge of seeing this prophecy be fulfilled?
