Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted April 23, 2018 Moderators Posted April 23, 2018 The following article reflects the doctoral work of a student who chose to take a look at that attitudes of people toward women in leadership positons and how those people related to questions as to the ordination of women. As a critique of the study, it should be clear to anyone who has done graduate work that the study was foundationally flawed, and therefore it should not be used to support any generalized conclusions. However, on the positive side, the author of the study supports that view and considers her work to only be that of a pilot study that should lead to future more comprehensive work. So, the author is making very limited claims related to the study. To me, the value of this work lies in the fact that it suggests that more work needs to be done. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
CoAspen Posted April 23, 2018 Posted April 23, 2018 I agree with Pam from a research point of view, she has simply obtained a few opinions, but that is good starting point. She should continue to design a real research project, collect the data and then have a report to share. What she has done could not even be called a "plot study" in the formal sense. Quote
