Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted May 4, 2018 Moderators Posted May 4, 2018 The following article references an official action that the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Rwanda is taking: https://atoday.org/adventists-to-build-genocide-memorial-in-mugonero-rwan For those who may not be familiar, in 1994 a large number of people were killed Inside a SDA Church building. A book was written on that, which charged that certain SDA leaders were complicit in this killing. A United Nations criminal court issued a warrant for the arrest and trial of a SDA leader who was alleged to be complicit in the death of those people. That person was extradited from the United States, tried, convicted and served a short prison sentence after which he returned to the United States and shortly after died. A difference of opinion on the arrest, conviction and extradition of that person exists among the members of this forum. There are those here who are firmly convinced that he was not treated with justice and that he was innocent. Others disagree. My post is not intended to generate such a discussion. Rather, it is to point to an action that the SDA Church in Rwanda is taking on that 1994 event. It is that action that I believe is newsworthy and deserving of knowledge by our members. I hope that any discussion that takes place on that event will be respectful of others and in recognition that the one who was charged with a crime paid the price after his conviction and is now dead. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
