On October 21, 2017, Dr. Mansfield, Edwards, President of the Ontario Conference, received the Visionary Award for outstanding contributions to the community.

The Visionary award is a national award that spans Canada.  It is an award that is given by a non-SDA organization. Afroglobal  [sic.] Television.

It should be noted that Dr. Edwards was honored with the Mayor's Award in 2006 & 2010.

Contributing to his receipt of this award has been his service as:

*  York Regional Police chaplain continuing since 2005.

*  Chaplain for the Association of Black Law Enforcers.

*  Co-chair of the Montreal Black Ministers executive council.

*  Chaplain of the Canadian Federation of Inter-cultural Friendship.
