A major issue that the SDA denomination, at least in North America faces today is how to reach out to the community at large and become a part of the community.

Probably the primary leader in that area, as it involves the Internet, stems from the Boulder, Colorado congregation.  As I have posted on that before, I will not comment on it today other than to say that if you want more information, contact them.

Recently the Gillette, Wyoming congregation found itself in an expanding Internet presence.  By an accident [NOTE: I am not informed as to how Facebook works in this respect.]   this congregation found that it had  spent $15 for a Facebook advertisement that  mentioned a Mother's Day sermon that would be broadcast on the Internet.  It should be noted that this is a small congregation with 79 members on the books.  In the first few days, following that sermon, some 1200 people had watched it.   The congregation has expanded its Internet presence and now some 100 people are regularly following the congregation.  These come from as far away as India, Florida, Texas and Utah.  They are interacting with congregation for pastoral support.

 

NOTE:  My information came from a news release of the Rocky Mountain Conference.  However, the above is my writing and  it is not a quote.

I receive their devotionals every day.  My wife and I really enjoy them.
