Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted June 16, 2018 Moderators Posted June 16, 2018 The following is a statement from the North American Division of SDAs and published in NAD News Points, today, June 16, 2018. “Suffer the Little Children …” – An Appeal From the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America As Jesus was preaching in Israel, parents started to bring their young infants for Him to bless. The disciples became frustrated with this and started to push the parents away. Jesus responded with words that ring true today: “Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein” (Luke 18:16-17, KJV). Recent events in the United States have brought the news of young children being separated from their parents as they cross our borders. The Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America joins other faith-based groups in expressing concern over these actions, and it is deeply worried when biblical texts are used by those in power to affirm them. We strongly encourage all political parties to quickly seek a joint resolution that will not only bring these separated families back together, but also keep this from ever happening again. We affirm the right of our government to protect its borders and enforce the law; but it is a moral obligation of this country to protect all who cross our borders. Romans 13:10 guides us with these words: “Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.” Please join us in praying for the families that are currently separated and fearful for those they love. May they soon find peace and joy in each other’s arms. GayatfootofCross and phkrause 2 Quote Gregory
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted June 17, 2018 Author Moderators Posted June 17, 2018 Today, June 16, 2018, the President of the Pacific union Conference released the following statement on this issues: http://adventistfaith.com/child-detentions/ Quote Gregory
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted June 17, 2018 Author Moderators Posted June 17, 2018 I will sugest that it should be noted that both the North American Division of SDAs and the Pacific Union Conference have chosen to release a statement that some will say is political during the hours of the Sabbath. Perhaps the Sabbath is more for "good works" than some have recognized in the past. I also note with interest that comment in both releases related to the misuse of Scripture to support the political agenda. phkrause and CoAspen 2 Quote Gregory

CyberGuy Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Our schools are filled to capacity along the boarder states. Hospitals are taxed to the limit with these Illegals. Housing costs is going through the roof as the influx of illegals tax our housing availability. California has proposed revisiting the proposition 13 that limited the property tax to the point you last mortgage the house with a 2 percent raise tax per year. Soon it will be house owners vs renters when it comes to a higher property tax proposition. People may be liberal on this issue but I would dare say then when it affects their pocketbook very seriously then the liberalism tends to go away. Quote Riverside CA
CyberGuy Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Talking about Democrat HYPOCRISY. Trump is simply carrying forward the policy of past presidents. Democrat and republican. Quote Riverside CA
CoAspen Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Actually not....caring it to extremes is not the same. Be factual, separation was not used by the past presidents as a tool of politics but rather only in child protection situations. The issue is not about the illegal immigration but the use of children to forward the rhetoric. Of course there are problems to be solved. What the media and both sides are not addressing is the issue of why the people are willing to travel the great distances through danger to still come. It is happening around the world, not just here. Oppresion, economics, persecution, etc drive people to safer havens. Until we as a nation can help to alleviate those conditions, they will still come. Fences, walls, detention camps, etc are just bandaids, the bleeding continues. Just treating symptoms does not cure the disease. phkrause 1 Quote
CyberGuy Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 snopes will confirm that the Obama administration handed over children later proved to be child predators who were pretending to be their parents. Is it not just prudent to make sure these children are indeed children of the adults they came with and not some sort of human trafficking Ring where the children will end up as prostitutes or worse. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/did-obama-administration-children-human-traffickers/ rudywoofs (Pam) 1 Quote Riverside CA
