Some far out critics of the SDA Church have alleged that there are Jesuit spies who have infiltrated the SDA Church to include  becoming elected leaders in the General Conference.  Loren Seibold, of Adventist Today comments on this.  In addition he carries this on to the point where he suggests that we send Seventh-day Adventists to infiltrate the Roman Catholic Church in Rome, Italy.  As an example, he points out that if we had SDA  janitors cleaning the bathrooms, the janitor could leave SDA literature for the Pope and others to read.  For more on this see:

?  Great article!

I've always thought the Jesuit infiltration theory was ridiculous.  And Loren Seibold nailed it with this:

Quote

I’ve never been quite sure why the Jesuits want to infiltrate us. We’re not that interesting, and we do plenty of damage to ourselves without their help.

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

We know what the Jesuit spies are doing. They are teaching us that the so-called "Historic Adventists" are the opposite extreme from the liberals that deny the Investigative judgment. They are teaching us that the truth is high and narrow and that Satan has ditches on either side, one deception to deceive the liberals and the other deception to deceive the conservatives. Especially since we all know that it is only the liberals that are wrong, the moderates and the more moderate conservatives are confused and only the far right is 100% right.

that's amusing... my cousin is a Jesuit priest and is a "middle-of-the-road" moderate..

This doesn't appear a very difficult course to follow.

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:13-14

I remember many years ago, on JR Layman's old forum, I was accused of being a Jesuit spy.

That is a familiar name, Layman!! I went to school with a Paul Layman, and if I'm not mistaken JR was his brother?? The reason I say was, is because I understand that JR has pasted away??

I never met JR Layman; I only interacted with him online. He was rough around the edges and he liked to try to get under my skin since I am both Canadian and French (and French-Canadian). This was in the days of the Iraq invasion and "Freedom Fries". I miss him. I couldn't find an online obituary for him, but his wife's obituary is online and it mentions him.

It is rare that I feel any sort of bond with someone I only "know" online, but I enjoyed what he did. I was an atheist at the time and JR's forum allowed me to express, challenge and debate many of the issues that led me out of the church - it allowed me to let off steam and cleared my mind so I that when I returned to church, many of these issues were behind me. I'll always be thankful for his ministry.
