Orthodox Jewish groups urge Supreme Court to overturn 41-year-old precedent

An amicus curiae was filed last week on behalf of 10 Jewish organizations to support a brief asking the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn a 41-year-old precedent that drastically limited a provision of the 1964 Civil Rights Act not to jeopardize the job status of Sabbath-observant employees.

I am reminded that some SDA attornies who litigate, believe that that Patterson case is not strong enough to bring it to the U.S Supreme Court.

It is dangerous to bring such a case as an adverse ruling will set in concrete the law all across the land.

We can only wait and see.
