Gustave Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 Does the General Conference exercise religious Authority via "Synodal" means OR are they claiming PRIMACY? In the Eastern Orthodox Faith Tradition the Patriarchs exercise authority "collectively" thus if you are united in belief your included in the Autocephalous Churches that make up Eastern Orthodoxy. The Catholic Church appeals to the Primacy of Peter and his successors for how authority is understood in Catholicism. Has anyone actually put the question to the General Conference as to how they understand their own Authority? Judging from the page that photodude posted from the Church manual it would appear that the General Conference understands that it has Primacy in matters of faith and morals despite what the SDA Patriarchs (which I guess are more or less conferences) determine what works in their area? rudywoofs (Pam) 1 Quote

Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
