As I recall, my family temporarily stayed with my aunt for awhile after she left Waco and after their "great disapointment." Among other concepts, Victor Houteff taught that he would not die, but would lead his people to old Jerusalem and thence to the heavenly Canaan. So it came as quite a shock to his followers when, on February 5,1955, he passed to his rest at the age of 69. JoeMo Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 Ahhh .. Victor Houteff and Shepherd's Rod (aka the Davidian Adventist Church). Back in the late 1980's, some members of the Branch Davidians came to our SDA church in central NM to "recruit". Two people actually went back to Waco with them. Just a couple years ago, A member of the Davidian Adventist Church (as Shepherd's Rod folks prefer to be called) came recruiting at our little church. He was quite disruptive; and some of us suspected right away that he was from Shepherd's Rod. Being a flock without a shepherd at the time, we were very crafty and invited him to lead our Sabbath School the next week. He brought his wife and went though his spiel, after which we - how can I say this - tore him a new one with challenges he had no clue how to answer. His wife - being the sensitive type - announced that they shouldn't be at our church and promptly got up to leave. Her husband dutifully followed. They never came back. Was that a sign that we weren't welcoming enough? B/W Photodude 1 Quote

I used to get pamphlets from a Davidian group in Missouri sometime after Waco.
