It Is Cold Out There

In general, it is believed today that the overall temperature of the universe is 3 degrees measured on the Kelvin scale.  If you were to convert that temperature to another that might be more familiar to you, which of the following would equal 3 degrees on the Kelvin scale:

1)    0 degrees Absolute zero?

2)    -270.15 degrees on the Celsius scale

3)   -454.27 degrees on the Fahrenheit scale?

4)   5.4 degrees on the Rankine scale?

 

HINT:  The above may contain multiple answers that are wrong and correct.  However, all of the above are valid measurements of temperature.

Absolute Zero is a popular term.

The Celsius and Fahrenheit scales a popular scales used internationally.

The Rankine scale is used in engineering.

The Kelvin scale is used in some science to include cosmology.

And the answer is:  three (3) degrees Kelvin is equal to all I have listed except for 0 degrees Absolute Zero.  Three (3) degrees Kelvin is slightly above 0 degrees Absolute Zero.
