Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted November 20, 2018 Moderators Posted November 20, 2018 Today, as I regularly do, I spent time providing food to people in need. These are not people displaced by the current fires in California. Food is collected from local grocery stores. It is put out on tables for display. and people come in to chose what food they may need in order to feed their families for the coming week. Many of them, we see week after week. Often they come with their young children. The selection varies some from week to week. Due to the California fires, today we did not have some of the food we generally get as it went to those affected by the fires. But, we actually had some that we do not normally have. People can pick and chose the food that they need. We do not give them a standard basket as we believe they know best what their needs are. Our gifts do not fill all of their needs for the coming week. But, it is probably that for some people, some of what they receive is likely to be all they will get this week of that product. Often, city officials, to include the Mayor give a couple of hours of their time to work with us. Today we had some Girl Scouts working with us. This is Thanksgiving. Many of us are blessed with more than some others have. Even if we to not live "high on the hog," so to speak, we are better off than are some others. We are blessed in many ways. By the way, we served some 80 families today. phkrause 1 Quote Gregory

Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted November 20, 2018 Author Moderators Posted November 20, 2018 As to my comment related to living "high on the hog," I assume you all know that I meant to write "high on the Loma LInda whog." Just a simple typo on my part. To those who may not understand the above, it is an "in house joke." phkrause 1 Quote Gregory
