The Apokalupsis

I was reading a book by Rabbi Jonathan Cahn; where he was talking about the Book of Revelation - sometimes called the Apocalypse.  He said that the word "apocalypse" comes from the Greek word "apocalupsis", which int urn comes from two root words - "apo (meaning"remove") and "kalupsis" ( meaning "veil" or "covering"). So the word can be translated as the removing of the covering or veil.  Traditionally, this has been interpreted as the uncovering of the mysterious prophecies of the OT - especially those of Daniel - about end times.  Study of the apocalypse is regarded by many as scary, because it appears that the apocalypse climaxes with the destruction of earth and all of its wicked inhabitants.  But it has another beautiful ending.  If we read Revelation 21:1-2:

"Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,”[a] for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband."

For the saved, the apocalypse climaxes with a wedding!  That's a happy ending! 

Don't miss the symbolism of the lifting of the veil (apocalypse) at the wedding ceremony. When the wedding is complete, the veil is lifted. No more separation or partial sight - we will see Him as He is, and we will be one with Him - part of His Body.  That's the kind of apocalypse I can look forward to!
