Progressives are the 21st century pagans

"Why are progressives so intent on controlling the public square? It takes considerable effort to hunt for the only Christian B&B or Christian baker for miles around in order to be offended. Once offended, there are court cases dragging on, sometimes for years. This takes determination of a high order."

Everyone uses "labels" to define a group they are discussing. I suspicion fearing the use of labels is another way to hide what you are doing. And even the Bible uses labels to put people into groups. But even those grouped by the Bible don't like it.

From the article:

Today’s culture war is a spiritual war. Paul reminds us, ‘Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world’ Ephesians 6:12."

I think we must remember this when criticizing progressives; and if you are a progressive, you need to remember this about conservatives.  I have my opinion of which side is right or wrong, but I don't want to derail the topic.

Whichever side of the aisle we are on,  we must remember that we aren't fighting against the people on the other side, we are fighting against demonic spiritual powers who are deceiving the other side.  Those fighting for freedom from the historical Judeo-Christian moral compass truly believe they are fighting for human rights.  In general they don't realize they are fighting against God (assuming they believe in God).  There are many who call themselves devoted Christians on both sides of the aisle.

I have asked in another thread what we as Christians can do to fight against the slippery slope of a country rebelling against God.  My only answer is to pray that God lift the veil from our eyes and pray against the evil spiritual powers that will culminate in the end-time satanic empire.  Like Eph. 6:12 says, our struggle is not against people, it is against the evil spirits that motivate them.

When it comes to groups as in the article, it is not to stir up outrage and fighting, but to know what is going on. Ellen White wrote regarding being students of history and current events. It really is important to be aware of the direction of things, but stay out of the battle (for the most part).

Maybe physical battle, but we need to engage in spiritual battle through prayer and good works.  I'm talking to myself here as well as anyone else who's listening.
