Pioneer Memorial Looks For New Youth Pastor. Qualification: Must Be A Woman

According to this press release, Pioneer Memorial’s requirements for a Youth Pastor are:

Female (just the opposite of the biblical model for a pastor—which is male—PMC is after a female).  The words “any of whom” in the above quote reveal PMC’s progressive bias to give the job exclusively to a woman.  Or else.

Passion (they don’t say what ‘she’ must be passionate about)

Excellent (they don’t define “excellence”)

This horse  has already left the barn.  The SDA denomination has female pastors in many places, to include outside of  they U.S.  In additions, female SDA clergy serve as military chaplains, hospital chaplains in SDA hospitals as well as in non-SDA hospitals.

The issue that is under discussion today is whether or not those females should be ordained.  In many places it is not whether or not they should serve as pastors.   

Andrews University is totally within their rights, and in accord with SDA policy to seek to add a female to their pastoral staff as a pastor to its female students.

We should not expect that females should only be served by male clergy.
