Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted May 11, 2019 Moderators Posted May 11, 2019 Like most of you, we gave cable TV, for which we pay a monthly fee. However, we do not pay to have a TV hooked up in our guest bedroom, as we do not use that TV. Recently we purchased for one dollar, a "U Must Have Amplified Digital Indoor HDTV Antenna," which I installed the other day. So, I thought that I would report as to how well it works, Although, it should be kept in mind that we have not used it enough to fully understand the capabilities that it has. NOTE: I installed the antenna, on a nearby window, as it is about the thickness of a thick piece of paper. * On a channel scan, the TV reported picking up some 14 different channels. * However, only a few work at any onetime. E.G. Right now, I can receive on two (2) channels. * Those two channels can be generally viewed at any time during the day. * The other channels may be viewed at different times during the day. * A viewable channel has an excellent picture. In other words, it is either a very good picture, or nothing. * Possibly if I changed the location of the antenna on the window, I might get a better channel selection. * This indoor antenna, in several versions, is well available for sale on the Internet and at various prices. Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted May 11, 2019 Members Posted May 11, 2019 those thin, window-mount HD antennas all hype the same "get lots of channels" baloney... they never worked for us. The best we've found so far are the "bar" type, such as https://www.amazon.com/GE-33691-Pro-Amplified-Antenna/dp/B01GG1Q60E/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=HD+Indoor+Amplified+Bar+Antenna&qid=1557541808&s=gateway&sr=8-3 still not great, but I use it with the ROKU, and can get quite a few channels now... Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
