Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted May 22, 2019 Moderators Posted May 22, 2019 As Probably most of you know, there is a difference between the Hebrew language used in the writing of the Bible and the Hebrew language spoken today. Michael Carasik of the University of Pennsylvania, has developed an 18 hour (36 lesson) video course by which the average person may learn the fundamentals of the original language of the Hebrew Old Testament. This course has been produced and distributed by The Great Courses, which is a company that has produced and distributed literally hundreds of video courses on a very wide range of subjects. This course is produced in a DVD format which normally sells for $384.95, and includes a physical copy of the course, which includes a lesson book of 226 pages. As a 2nd option, it is distributed as a video download which allows you to download to your computer, but does not give you a physical copy. This edition normally sells for $334.95. Under a special sale, which ends on June 13, 2019. the DVD edition may be purchased for $35 and the video download for $25. Someone ordering this course, should give the priority code of 173430 at the time of the order. I think that Stinson Marri might find this course of interest as well as other people. Title of the Course: Biblical Hebrew: Learning a Sacred Language. Course # 2256 Online Orders: www.trygreatcourses.com Telephone orders: 800-832-2412, 7 days a week: 9 AM tp 10 PM ET Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM Sat & Sunday. Mail Orders: The Great Courses, 4840 Westfield Blvd, # 500, Chantilly, VA 20151-2299. Should telephone as tax and shipping may be charged. NOTE: On a personal note, I have purchased a number of their courses and I have been well pleased with them. Probably my favorite course was a 96 lesson (48 hours of lectures) on Introductory Astronomy--16 DVD disks and a 537 page lesson book.. Quote Gregory
