We are to use our power to give life protect life and empower life. Their destruction it was not about homosexuality it was murder and rape and wanton disregard for life. As stewards of their lives, the people who were destroyed by God had exhausted every mercy, every pleading, and became guilty of rejecting the Holy Spirit and lost all restraint of evil. Failure to worship the God of the Judeo-Christian scriptures is not a violation of our laws. Adultery is not punishable by imprisonment or fine. Neither are homosexual acts (between consenting adults). If we Christians and Jews want the freedom to worship in our chosen ways, we must leave others free to worship (or not) in their own ways. (Though I'm sure that pagan sacrifice of human beings would not be allowed. ) The problem comes when the freedoms conflict. Can Christians really be punished for quoting their own scriptures, or upholding the principles taught by those scriptures? Apparently - yes. Protestants left Europe for the Americas so they could separate themselves from the influence of (and persecution by) those they believed were in error. Today - the world is too small. Mixed fibers are also prohibited. Why such a fascination with Sodom, sodomy and sodomites? Why does Sodom get all the recognition? It's always Sodomites this and Sodomites that - it's always about Sodom and Sodomites. Didn't the Gomorrahans do as much to deserve to be similarly remembered and memorialized? Why doesn't anyone ever talk about Gomorrah? And when people do mention Gomorrah, it's always "Sodom and Gomorrah", never just Gomorrah. Gomorrah is either always forgotten or ignored, or it's simply the little side-kick of Sodom. It must have really sucked to have been a Gomorrahan.
